Manuel J.G.
De Medeiros
d. Aug 4, 2025
Manuel J. G. de Medeiros. 88, of Fall River, husband of Liliana M. (Moniz) Medeiros, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 4, 2025 following a brief illness. Born in Mosteiros, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Manuel De Medeiros and the late Maria da Luz (Ricardo) Medeiros. He emigrated to Fall River, Massachusetts, in 1960.
Prior to his retirement he worked as a laborer for Conrail Railroad for many years. He loved cooking, gardening, tending to his grapevines, and extending meticulous attention to his yard. In his early years he enjoyed dancing with his wife and frequented various restaurants. He also enjoyed going on cruises and traveling back to his homeland in the Azores to visit family. Most notably, Manuel was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who relished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandsons who were his pride and joy. A long-time member of the Holy Name Society, he was a devout Catholic and faithfully attended Mass. In his free time, he was steadfast in praying for the wellbeing and Lord's guidance for his family.
Besides his wife of sixty-three years, he leaves his loving daughter, Anna P. Medeiros and her companion, Joe Ferreira, of North Dartmouth; his two grandsons, Brandon Medeiros and Jordon Medeiros and his companion, Corinne Downey; his siblings, Carlos Medeiros (late wife, Madelena), Palmira Santos and her husband, Agostinho, both of Fall River and Joseph De Medeiros and his wife, Patricia, of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Manuel's family would like to acknowledge Evelyn Cloutier and Mary Cruz, Anne Wicks, for all their help and comfort during his illness and final days.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, August 12th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
