Manuel B. Lima, 65, of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Sunday, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Alda M. (Cabral) Lima, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, son of Maria de Conceicao Lima of Dartmouth and the late Jose Bernardo. Manuel was well known all over the island of St. Michael for being a taxi driver for 15 years. Locally, he spent 17 years working with MON Landscaping. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church, belonged to the Don Carlos Club and was a member of the St. Anthony Band Club, where he played drums and cooked highly popular dishes that, although willing to share the recipes, were impossible to recreate. Survivors also include his sons, Viriato Lima of Bridgeport, CT, Joey Lima, Bobby Lima (wife – Kimberly) and Armindo Lima (wife – Cassandra) all of Fall River; siblings, Paulo Bernardo, Celeste Reis and Claudia Carreiro, all of Fall River and Veneranda Tabicas of Dartmouth; granddaughters, Sofia Lima and Amalia Lima; and several nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, October 31, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at Oak Grove Cemetery.
