Obituary

Manuel Cabral Lindo, 93, formerly of Alden Street in Fall River, passed away Tuesday at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Evangelina (da Costa Tavares) Lindo. Born in the village of Bretanha, on the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores, he was a son of the late Manuel Cabral Lindo and the late Francisca (dos Santos) Cabral Lindo. A resident of the Azores for most his life, he was employed as a supervisor with the Public Works Department while living on Sao Miguel. Manuel was a communicant of Espirito Santo Church on Alden Street in Fall River, and a naturalized United States Citizen. Surviving family members include three sons, Noah Lindo and his wife Maria of Inverness, FL, Pastor Jose Gabriel Cabral and his wife Leonilde of Fall River, and Paul Lindo and his wife Elaine of Orange County, FL, five daughters, Mrs. Joaquim (Mary M.) Marques of Westport, MA, Mrs. John (Lucia) Marques, Mrs. Jeremias (Ludevina) Sousa, Mrs. Jose (Mary F.) Raposo, and Mrs. Antonio (Liliana) Rebelo, all of Fall River, a daughter in law, Mary Rose Lindo, two brothers, Jose Lindo of Paris, France, and Joao Lindo of Atleboro, MA, two sisters, Irene Figueiredo of Paris, France, and Serafina Cabral of Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel, Azores, twenty one grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews. He was also the father of the late Manuel Lindo and a brother of the late Antonio Lindo, Luis Lindo, Maria Rodrigues, Natalia Cabral and Constantina Cabral. His concelebrated Funeral Mass was offered on Friday (11/16) in Espirito Santo Church. Principal celebrant was Father James Ferry. Concelebrants were Father Luis Cardoso, Father Jose dos Santos and Father Henry Arruda. They were assisted by Deacons Thomas Souza and Abilio Pires. Committal services followed at Notre Dame Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gershon Raposo, Paul Lindo, Steve Cabral, Tony Rebelo, Manny Lindo and Mario Marques.
