Obituary

   Manuel C. Melo, 89, of Fall River, husband of Maria Natalia (Dias) Melo, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026, at home, surrounded by his family.

   Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, Manuel was the son of the late Manuel Justino de Melo and the late Maria da Conceicao (Carrelas) de Melo.

   Prior to retirement, Manuel worked as a painter for Taunton Stove Company, in Taunton. Manuel was a member of the Don Carlos Club and he enjoyed gardening. Most notably, Manuel cherished the time he spent with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

   Besides his wife Maria, he leaves his children, Tina Fernandes and her husband Antonio, of Fall River, and Luis P. Melo, of Fall River; grandchildren, Blake, Nakisha, Tammara and Troy; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Luiza Cabral and Margarida Soares, both of Canada; sister-in-law, Maria Ceu Silva, of St. Michael, Azores; and several nieces and nephews.

   Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Visitation to be held in Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford Street, Fall River, on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 8:30 am to 9:30 am.

   His Funeral will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. from Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Committal and Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
