Manuel M. Monte, 81, of Fall River, passed away Tuesday September 3, 2024 in the comfort of his home following a long illness. He was the former husband of the late Julieta (Aguiar) Sousa. Born in Mosteiros, St.Michael, Azores a son of the late Jose Monte and the late Florinda (Almeida) Monte. He immigrated to Fall River in 1969 where he lived most of his life.

Prior to his early retirement he worked as a laborer in the local construction industry. He loved cooking, gardening, walks through his neighborhood and in his younger years, diving and swimming in the ocean. Known to be a bit of a "jokester", he very much enjoyed playing tricks on his family, especially his grandchildren. Most notably Manny was a devout Catholic, attended Mass faithfully and prayed the rosary daily.

He is survived by his loving children, Ana Monte (fiancé, Abel Soares), David Monte (wife Lucy), and Joaquim "Jack" Monte (wife Becky), all of Fall River, his three granddaughters, Leandra Monte, Savana Soares and Sierra Soares; and two great grandsons, Aiden Miranda and Demetrius Patterson, his brother Jose A. Monte of Swansea and his sister Conceicao Pereira of Fall River and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Maria Teresa Dias.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, September 19th, in Santo Cristo Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery Chapel.
