Obituary

Manuel T. "Fenais" Pacheco, age 90, passed away at home in Fall River on Friday, March 30, 2012, following a brief illness. He was the husband of Marianna C. (Carvalho) Pacheco. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Jose T. Pacheco and the late Helena (Rebello) Pacheco. Although the Pacheco family emigrated from the Azores looking for a better life, the great depression forced them to return to Sao Miguel. Manuel would remain in the Azores for many years, working as a dairy farmer, until his return to Fall River in 1950. He was employed with various construction companies in the area as a laborer until his retirement in 1984. Manuel was a communicant of Espirito Santo Church and was a member of the Holy Name Society and the Holy Ghost Society. In addition to his wife, Marianna, he is survived by a daughter, Mary Theresa Miranda of Fall River, three sons; Manuel Pacheco, Jr. of Westport, MA, Edward Pacheco of Fall River, and Daniel Pacheco of Tiverton, RI, a brother, Jose Pacheco of Fall River, a sister, Maria Viveiros of Fall River, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Isidoro "Antonio" Pacheco and the late Manuel Pacheco. His funeral Mass was celebrated at Espirito Santo Church, He was laid to rest in Notre Dame Cemetery.
