Manuel Pimental Torres, a/k/a "Manuel Sagrado", 86, of Fall River, passed away Tuesday at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Husband of Maria (Sardinha) Torres, to whom he was married for 60 years. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Jose Pimental Chicharro and Maria Medeiros Sardinha. A construction laborer out of local #22 for many years, mostly with the former Caprera Construction Co., he went on to retire from the former Joan Fabrics. He enjoyed gardening, raising farm animals and spending time with his family and the joys of his life with his 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Beloved father of Maria T. Silva (husband Jose), Rosemary T. Aguiar (husband - the late Victor), Manuel S., Joseph S. and Luiz S. Torres (wife Maria); brother of the late Artur Chicharro, Jose Medeiros and Maria Medeiros Aguiar. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was offered on Friday, February 3, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by committal services at St. Patrick Cemetery.
