Manuel S.
Pimentel
d. Jan 3, 2021
Fall River
Manuel S. Pimentel, 82, of Fall River, husband of Adelina (Vieira) Pimentel, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Ribeira Grande, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Evaristo Pimentel and the late Evarista Miranda Medeiros (Soares) Pimentel.
Prior to his retirement he was a machine operator at a local wire manufacturing company for many years. A friendly and kind-hearted family man, Manuel always remained very much devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren. He and his wife were true "soul mates" and enjoyed family gatherings and traveling together to such places as Florida and his homeland in the Azores. An avid Benfica fan, he also enjoyed his daily local rides through the city and feeding everyone.
Besides his loving wife of fifty-six years, he leaves: his children, Oraina Mendonca and her companion, Mario Abreu, of Somerset, Manuel Pimentel of Fall River, and Gisela Desrosiers and her husband, Robert, of Westport; his five granddaughters, Caitlyn Pimentel, Felicia Mendonca, Natasha Mendonca, Kayla Desrosiers, and Sydney Desrosiers; three great-grandchildren, Riley Rego, Layla Rego, and Wesley Rego; sisters, Olga Pereira, Fernanda Soares Pimentel, and Estefania Figueirdo; brothers, Jose Augusto Pimentel and Carlos Pimentel; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Margarida Estrela and Antonio Pimentel.
Due to the COVID pandemic, Manuel was laid to rest on Thursday, January 7th, with a private committal service at St. Patrick Cemetery.
Being unable, because of this pandemic, to make in-person expressions of kindness and support, all are urged to express sympathy online or by mail. To ensure that said condolences and/or sympathy cards reach the family, please always make sure that submissions online are made directly through the funeral home's website ( www.silvafaria.com ) and not through a third party. Thank you!
