Manuel Ramos Cordeiro, age 72, of Fall River, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, following an extended illness. He was the husband of Lucilia (Correia) Cordeiro. Born on the island of St. Michael in the Azores, he was a son of the late Serafin Cordeiro and the late Rosa (Medeiros) Cordeiro. Manuel was employed for most his life as a commercial fisherman in the Azores until moving to Fall River in 1986. He was a communicant of Espirito Santo Church on Alden Street in Fall River. In addition to his wife, Lucilia, surviving family members include a son, Amancio Cordeiro of Fall River, three daughters; Maria Goncalves and Lucilia Alves, both of Fall River, and Maria Cabral of St. Michael, a brother, Alfredo Cordeiro of St. Michael, ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Alberto Cordeiro and the late Duarte Cordeiro. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, July 26, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
