Fall River
Manuel "Manny" Ribeiro of South Main Street, Fall River, passed away peacefully at his home. He was the husband of the late Eugenia F. "Jean" (Fortuna) Ribeiro. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Mary Ribeiro and Jaoquim Ribeiro. He was a lifelong resident of the city. He attended Fall River schools. Mr. Ribeiro worked as an auto/diesel mechanic retiring from Hemingway Transportation Company and the Fall River Fire Department. He was a past chairman of the Fall River Licensing Board and a Deputy Sheriff of Bristol County. He will always be remembered as a man of knowledge and wisdom by his family.
Mr. Ribeiro was pre-deceased by his sister, Anne (Ribeiro) LeClerc; brothers, Harold, Joseph and James Ribeiro. Survivors include: nieces, Sandra (Ribeiro) Levesque, Linda (Ribeiro) Woolham and nephews, Richard and Thomas LeClerc, David Bruce Ribeiro, Brian J. Ribeiro, MD, and numerous grand-nephews and nieces. Special thanks to his caretakers Megan and Michael Ribeiro. His Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, December 12th, during calling hours in our Fall River Chapel. His burial arrangements were private.
