Obituary

Manuel Sardinha, 79, of Assonet, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Manuel Francisco Sardinha and the late Maria Conceicao (Sardinha) Sardinha.

He very much enjoyed socializing, playing video games, and bingo at the Day Care Program he attended. Manuel also loved singing, gardening, coloring, and his memorable trip to the Azores to visit his homeland. Most notably, he loved dogs, especially his beloved dog, Nisa, who never left his side.

He leaves: his sister, Lidia Medeiros and her husband, Roger, of Ponta Delgada, St. Michael, Azores; his two brother-in-laws, Manuel Campos (late wife, Maria Anjos) of Somerset and Serifim Medeiros (late wife, Victa) of North Dartmouth; sister-in-law, Maria Do Carmo Sardinha (late husband, Manuel F.); and many nieces and nephews, including his niece, Marylou Theriault, who lovingly cared for him for the past fifteen years. He was also the brother of the late Maria J. Resendes, Victa J. Medeiros, Judith Sardinha, Manuel F. Sardinha, Maria Anjos Campos, Lourdes Sardinha, Germana Sardinha, Manuel Sardinha and brother-in-law of the late Manuel Resendes.

A private committal service was held on Tuesday, February 23rd, at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
