Manuel Antonio Simoes, 61, of Fall River, died peacefully at home on Tuesday. He was the husband of Maria Helena (Miranda) Simoes with whom he shared 36 years of marriage. Born in Ajuda Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Francisco Ferreira and Maria Rosa (Oliveira) Simoes. A resident of Fall River since 1969, he worked in construction and was a parishioner of Espirito Santo Church. Survivors include daughters, Helen Creaney (husband Morgan) of Swansea, Nancy Simoes of Herndon, VA, brothers, Luis and Eduardo Ferreira both of Fall River, Jorge Ferreira of Westport and the late Jose Simoes, sister, Maria Rosa Nunes of Fall River, grandsons, Joshua & Jonah Creaney, and several nieces & nephews. His Funeral Mass, celebrated by Father Jose dos Santos and assisted by Deacon Thomas Souza, was offered on Friday (2/15) in Espirito Santo Church. Committal services followed at Notre Dame Cemetery. Pallbearers were Miguel Nunes, David Simoes, Joseph Simoes, Eduardo Ferreira, Jr., Luis Ferreira, Jr. and Jordan Ferreira.
