Manuel Souza, age 69, of Warren Street in Fall River, passed away on March 7, 2008, at St. Anne's Hospital, following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Lillian J. (Marois) Souza. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Manuel B. Souza and the late Gloria (Pereira Moniz) Souza. A lifelong resident of this city, he was a devoted educator and member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association and the Fall River Educators Association. Although he taught for several years at the Talbot Middle School, most of his thirty year teaching career for the Fall River School Department was enjoyed at the B.M.C. Durfee High School. Mr. Souza was a communicant of Espirito Santo Church on Alden Street in Fall River and also a parishioner of the former Our Lady of Health Church on Cambridge Street. Surviving family members include his two sons, Eric M. Souza and Wendy, his wife, and Jason A. Souza and wife Christine, four grandchildren, Gunnar Souza, Erica Souza, Ethan Souza and Adam Souza, all of Fall River, and several nieces and nephews. His funeral Mass was celebrated at Espirito Santo Church and he was laid to rest at St. Patrick Cemetery.
