Manuel C. Teixeira, 85, of Fall River, husband of Maria C. (Lizandro) Teixeira, passed away at Charlton Memorial Hospital on Thursday, February 16, 2023, after a year's battle with liver cancer. He was formerly the husband of the late Margarida (Resendes) Teixeira. Born in St. Michael, Azores, a son of the late Manuel A. Teixeira and the late Rosalina (Cabral) Teixeira, he emigrated to Fall River in 1974.

Prior to his retirement he was employed as a union laborer at Central Nurseries for about 15 years. He had also worked for a time at the former Quaker Fabric. Manuel enjoyed gardening, landscaping, and trips to Portugal; he also loved his wine and moonshine.

He is survived by: eight children, Margarida Teixeira (husband Aristides) of Fall River, Sizalda Vieira (husband Joao) of Fall River, Nelia Pereira (husband Luis) of St. Michael, Azores, Manuel Teixeira (wife Jennifer) of Westport, Brian Teixeira (wife Megan) of Fall River, Lucy Tabicas (husband Manuel) of Dartmouth, Sandra Torres (husband Jose) of Somerset, and John Teixeira of Fall River; five siblings, Jose Teixeira, Maria Branco, Lucia Faria, Luis Agostinho, and Adelino Teixeira all of Fall River; seventeen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, February 22nd, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
