Manuel C. "Whoop" Medeiros, Jr.,100, of Swansea and Fall River, husband of the late Gilda (Resendes) Medeiros, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 15, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Manuel C. Medeiros, Sr. and the late Maria Constance (Sardinha) Medeiros. He worked in the maintenance department of Fall River Housing for many years prior to his retirement. Manuel loved woodworking, playing cards, fishing, and traveling. A selfless man, he was also considered a "Jack of all trades", always there to lend a helping hand to anyone. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his loving family. He leaves: his four daughters, Barbara Leite and her husband Robert of Swansea, Mary Jane Desmarais and her husband Raymond of Fall River, Cynthia St.Jean and her husband Charles of Rhode Island, and Donna Marie Medeiros of Fall River; a sister, Beatrice Valton (late husband Joseph) and Angela Medeiros and her husband Manuel of Fall River; eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Manuel was also the brother of the late Mary Medeiros Guimond. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, April 21st, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
