Margaret E. (Platt) Cabral, 86, of Fall River, widow of Frederick Cabral, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Raymond W. Platt, Sr. and the late Margaret E. (Longshaw) Rolo formerly Platt.
She was employed in the local garment industry, at the former Narragansett Mills, for many years, and was also a cafeteria worker in the Fall River School System. A member of the Church of the Holy Spirit, and its choir, she also enjoyed membership in its Seniors Club. In her younger days she was an active volunteer with the Girls Scouts, serving as a troop leader.
She is survived by: two children, Frederick A. Cabral (wife Laura) of Somerset and Susan M. Correira of Fall River; four grandchildren, Matthew Cabral (wife Carolyn), Crystal Correira, Tiffany Correira, and Jessica Reynolds (husband Joseph); six great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. She was also a sister of the late Alice Santos, Albert Platt, and Raymond Platt Jr.; and step-sister of the late Leonard Rolo.
Following a private gathering on Tuesday, July 28th, in our Somerset Chapel, her committal service was held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Fall River.
Family members are always grateful for relatives and friends wishing to make in-person expressions of kindness and support. Being unable to do so, because of this pandemic, all are urged to express sympathy online or by mail.
