Margaret E. Medeiros, 71, of Somerset, wife of the late Edward P. Medeiros, Jr., passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at her home after a long illness.

Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late William A. and Mary E. (Goff) West.

A homemaker most of her life, she also worked in the local textile industry as a weaver in her younger days. She loved reading, trips to the casino, and traveling to such places as the Caribbean, Virginia, and Florida, where she and her late husband spent many years "wintering". Margaret also very much enjoyed the company of her dogs, Cassie (late) and George.

She leaves: her children, Sheri A. Brunette (late husband, Al) of Rehoboth and Jason E. Medeiros and his wife, Linda, of Somerset; her grandson, Jacob Brunette; one brother, Michael West and his wife, Mary, of North Dartmouth; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Gerald Goff and Barbara Schoonover.

Margaret's family would like to extend their utmost gratitude to Southcoast Visiting Nurse Association for the wonderful care their Mom received during her last days.

Due to the COVID pandemic, a private funeral was held on Thursday, May 21st, from our Somerset Chapel followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River. When the current crisis allows, her family is planning to celebrate her life with a Memorial Funeral Mass at St. John of God Church in Somerset, the details of which will be announced here.

Family members are always grateful for relatives and friends wishing to make in-person expressions of kindness and support. Being unable to do so, because of this pandemic, all are urged to express sympathy online or by mail.
