Margarida I. Estrela, 74, of Fall River, wife of the late Fernando B. DaEstrela, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday after a brief illness. Born in Ribeira Grande, St.Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Evaristo Batista and Evarista Miranda Medeiros (Soares) Pimentel. She worked as a machine operator for many years in the textile industry prior to her retirement. Margarida loved shopping, dancing, decorating, gardening and simply keeping her home spotless. Most important to her was her family who brought her much joy. She leaves: her children, Fernando Estrela and his wife Lucy of Dartmouth, Carlos Estrela, Zita Merces and her husband Elias of Fall River, Elia DeSouza and her husband Claudecir of Conn., Alda Catojo and her husband Luis of Canada, Elizabeth Hainse and her husband Brian of Florida, Rui Estrela and his wife Donna and Keryann Estrela and her husband Matthew Allard of Somerset; twenty grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; brothers, Manuel Pimental, Jose Augusto Pimentel, and Carlos Pimentel;  sisters, Olga Pereira, Fernanda Soares Pimentel and Estefania Figueiredo; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Marcia Estrela and sister of the late Antonio Pimentel. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, January 10th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committtal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
