Margarida D. Jorge, 90, of Fall River, widow of Manuel Almeida, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021, at St. Anne's Hospital. Born in Candalaria, St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Manuel Ferreira Jorge and the late Margarida Da Conceicao Martins, she emigrated to Fall River in 1981.

Prior to her retirement, she had worked for many years at Tillotson Rubber. A devout Catholic, she was a parishioner of Espirito Santo Church. She enjoyed walking and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by: five children, Eduarda Almeida of Ponta Delgada, St. Michael, Azores, Manuel Jorge Almeida of fall River, Jose Jorge Almeida (wife Maria Natal) of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, Maria H. Adriano (husband Joao) of Fall River, and Joao Almeida (wife Ana) of Somerset; two siblings, Maria Conceicao Alves of St. Michael, Azores, and Eduarda Pavao of Attleboro; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also a sister of the late Manuel Cabral and the late Maria Benevides.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, November 18th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
