Margarida M. Seringa, 85, of Somerset and formerly of 50 Wall St, Fall River, passed away unexpectedly on Friday. Widow of Francisco S. Seringa, she was born in Campanario, Madeira and was the daughter of the late Silvino and Carolina Mendes. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and spending time with her family. She was step-mother of Frank S. Seringa (wife Lynda) of Tustin, CA and Irene (husband Richard) Fernandes of Fall River. Sister of Carmina Santos of Hudson, MA and Jovita Silva of Venezuela. Grandmother of Nicole Garrant (husband Brian) of Fall River, Kris Seringa of NH and Kerri Driscoll (husband Peter) of Bridgewater. Great-grandmother of Brianna N. Garrant. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Manuel, Joseph, John and Zita Mendes. Funeral was held on Thursday, July 17, 2008, in St. Anthony of Padua Church, officiated by Father Brian Albino. Pallbearers were Russell Fernandes, Ronald Alegria, Charlie Resendes, Mark Santos, Chuck Santos and Joseph Santos. Interment was in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
