Maria A. Aguiar, 71, of Fall River and wife of Manuel J. Aguiar, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 30, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Ponta Delgada, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Joao and Gilda Andre.

Prior to her retirement, she was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Clifton Rehabilitation Nursing Center and Charlton Memorial Hospital for many years. A devout Catholic, she faithfully attended and prayed daily at her cherished church. She also loved gardening, decorating her home for each season, and, most importantly, spending quality time with all her family.

Besides her husband of fifty-two years, she leaves: her children, John Aguiar and his wife, Nancy, of Tiverton, Katherine Aguiar and her fiancé, Antonio Raposo, and Ann Aguiar, both of Fall River, and Kristie Ponte and her husband, Joseph, of Freetown; her eight grandchildren, Jarred and Jillian Aguiar, Colin and Victoria Heroux, Dylin, Ryan, and Kaitlyn Ponte, and Kasey Juarez; and several nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, September 3rd, in Holy Name Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
