Maria A. (Brum) Mello, 75, of Swansea, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital, after an illness. Born in St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Jose L. Brum and the late Maria C. (Trindade) Brum.

She had worked for a short time in her younger days at the former Shelburne Shirt, and also as a waitress at the Venus de Milo Restaurant. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, and loved being outdoors.

Survivors include: two children, Claudio C. Mello, Jr. (wife Gina L.) of Fall River, and Sonya Snizek (husband Craig) of Fall River; six siblings, Helen Oliveira of Swansea, Mary Lou Medeiros of Fall River, Natalie Misturado of Fall River, Laura Cabral of Fall River, Tony Brum of St. Michael, Azores, and Brian Brum of So. Yarmouth; three grandchildren, Maryssa, Olivia, and Justin; and several nieces & nephews. She was also a sister of the late Joseph T. Brum.

Following cremation, her Memorial Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, December 6th, in St. Francis of Assisi Parish Church in Swansea.
