Maria Manuela Aguiar, 73, of Fall River, wife of the late Joseph Aguiar, passed away unexpectedly on May 24, 2024 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Born in Ponta Delgada, San Miguel, Acores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Resendes Pimentel and the late Maria Estrela (Medeiros) Pimentel.
Prior to her retirement she was a jewelry assembler for Balfour and Company for many years. She loved cooking and traveling to such places as the Azores and Fatima. As a devout Catholic, she faithfully attended Mass, prayed the rosary daily, and also, along with her late husband, sang in the choir at St. Anthony of Padua Parish. Most notably, Maria was a selfless and generous woman who adored her four nieces and nephews.
She leaves her loving sisters, Cidalia Damaso (late husband, Alvaro), Helena Pimentel, and Ana Medeiros and her husband, Joseph and her four nieces and nephews, Phillip Paz, Christine Paz, Michelle Damaso, and Paulo Marques.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, June 1st, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
