Maria Dos Anjos (Moniz) Pereira, age 79, of Fall River, formerly of Somerset, wife of the late Joseph G. Pereira, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Sarah Brayton Nursing following a long illness. Born in Feiteras do Sul, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Mariano Moniz and the late Maria (Machado) Moniz. Prior to her retirement she was a machine operator at Lexcraft for many years. She was also a lifelong parishioner of St. John of God Church.

Maria is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws; Nancy Mota and her husband,  Rui, of Somerset, and Jenevieve Ferreira and her husband, Rui,  of Florida; her four grandchildren, Crystal, Marissa, Jordan (wife, Brittany) and Matthew; her great-grandchildren Adele, Logan, Amelia, Lily and Maverick;  two  brothers, Tiberio and his wife, Eduarda, and Eduardo Moniz and his wife, Almerinda, both of  Canada; one  sister, Idalina Pereira  and her husband, Victor, of Canada; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Lourdes Inacio and brother, Nicolino Moniz.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, April 8th, in St. John of God Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick's Cemetery, both in Somerset.
