Maria E. Barbosa, 86, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2010 after a brief illness. She was the widow of Francisco M. Barbosa, Jr. Born in St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Joseph E. and Maria (Peixoto) Medeiros. Survivors include sons, Carlos, Albert and Viriato Barbosa of Fall River, Mario and John Barbosa of Swansea; a daughter, Mary Jo Raposo of Fall River; sisters, Maria Conceicao Botelho of Fall River and Maria Gloria Patucho of St. Michael, Azores; 20 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also mother of the late Joseph F. and Paul Barbosa. Her funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Pallbearers Joe Raposo, Carlos, Mario, Albert, Viriato and John Barbosa brought Maria to her final resting place at St. Patrick Cemetery.
