Maria J. Barroso, 84, of Fall River, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday. Widow of Francisco Barroso. Born in St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Manuel and Beatriz Vieira. Beloved mother of Jose (wife-Odelia), Antonio (wife-Maria) and Victor (wife-Catherine) Barroso, Beatriz Gouveia (husband-the late Manuel), Natalia (husband-Miguel) and Esmeralda (husband-Jose) Andrade, Maria Faria (husband-Manuel), Leonor Oliveira (husband-Eduardo), Lucia Bernardo (fiancé-Gil DeAlmeida) and Celia DeAlmeida (husband-Claude). She also leaves 33 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, 6 siblings, many nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, April 4th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
