Maria L. Bonanca, 80, formerly of 221 London St, wife of the late Joao O. Bonanca, died Monday 7/12/10 at Sarah Brayton Nursing Home where she received excellent care. Born in St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Manuel S. "Pauletta" & Rosa M. (Macedo) Alves, she emigrated to Fall River in 1966. Retiring in 1994 from Highland Manor Nursing Home where she was employed in the housekeeping department for many years, she had also worked prior to that as a seamstress in the local garment industry. Beloved mother of John Bonanca of Swansea, Edward Bonanca, Ana Ferraz & Catarina Melo all of Fall River. Beloved grandmother of Jordan & Jasmine Bonanca, Eric & Nicole Ferraz, and Chelsea Bonanca. Several nieces and nephews also survive her. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated at Christian Assembly in Seekonk, MA. Her Committal Service was held at Notre Dame Cemetery.
