Maria Branco, 81, formerly of Bedford St, widow of Jacinto S. Branco, died on June 16, 2008 at Southpointe Nursing Home after a long illness. Born in Lomba da Maia, St Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Amaral Cordeiro and the late Maria Pedro Resendes. Survivors include: her stepdaughter and caretaker, Anna (& her husband John) Galvao of Fall River; other stepchildren, Walter Dias, Maria Andrade & Coralia Travassos all of Fall River, Joseph Dias of Attleboro, Olga Blood & Maria Gorretti Pereira both of Hudson, MA; brothers, Manuel Amaral of Fall River & Jose Amaral of Toronto, Canada; many stepgrandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Her funeral Mass was celebrated at St Anthony of Padua Church. Committal service was held at St Patrick Cemetery. Pallbearers were Steven and Andrew Galvao, John Binigno, Sal Moniz, John and Clement Amaral.
