Maria S. Brasil, 90, of Somerset, widow of Armando N. Brasil, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. She passed at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Terceira, Azores, a daughter of the late Manuel Lima and the late Melania (Sousa) Lima, she emigrated to Fall River in 1967.

Prior to retiring, Maria worked for many years in the local garment industry as a sewing machine operator alongside her daughter at the former Lexcraft. Outside of work, they continued their tag team journey as avid QVC shoppers. She was a longtime and devout member of the Faith Christian Center in Seekonk. Maria enjoyed cooking for family gatherings, regularly attending church, kissing & hugging everyone she met, going on shopping trips, vacationing, and, most of all, spending quality time with her family.

Maria is survived by: two children, Genevieve Cunha (spouse Lucio) of Somerset and Armando S. Brasil (spouse Carmen) of Loretto, Michigan; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; six great, great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by all five of her siblings: Deoclecio Lima, Jose Lima, Guilherme Lima, Fatima Estrela, and Leonor Pereira.

Her Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, August 22nd, in our Fall River Chapel followed by her committal at Oak Grove Cemetery in Fall River.
