Maria C. Machado, 85, of Fall River, widow of Manuel Cabral Silva, died Wednesday, December 3, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Agua Retorta, St Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Silverio Machado and Maria Rosario Cabral, she emigrated to Fall River in 1978, and was employed in the local textile industry, retiring from Whaling Mfg. She leaves: 4 children, Antonio M. Silva (wife Marcia), Guilherme M. Silva (wife Manuela) and Zacarias M. Silva all of Fall River, and Margarida Silva of Dartmouth; 3 siblings, Isaltina Silva and Jose Cabral both of Fall River, and Daniel Cabral of Toronto; 4 grandchildren, Tanya (husband Hal), Luis (wife Charlotte), Nelson & Jonathan; a great grandson, Noah; and several nieces and nephews. She was also mother of the late Luis Silva, and sister of the late Rosa Torres, Margarida Teixeira, Pedro and Antonio Machado. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, December 9, in St Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St Patrick Cemetery.
