Maria C. Moniz, 95, of Fall River and wife of the late Manuel Moniz, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 28, 2021 in the comforts of her home after a brief illness. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Joao Aguiar and the late Rosalina (Pacheco) Aguiar.

Prior to her retirement she was a machine operator in the local textile industry for many years. She loved cooking, rides to the ocean, and spending quality time with her family.

She leaves: her loving children, Manuel Moniz and his wife, Theresa, of Westport, Jose Moniz and his wife, Maria, Margarida Medeiros and her husband, Felisberto, Lucia Arruda (late husband, Jose), Cidalia Schmidt and her husband, Paul, all of Fall River, and Deolinda Aguiar and her husband, Abilio, of the Azores; seventeen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren ; her sister, Luiza Aguiar (late husband, Jose) of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Alcinda Leonardo, Maria Aguiar, Jose Aguiar, and Manuel Aguiar.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, July 1st, in Good Shepherd Parish Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
