Maria C. Pereira, 70, of Fall River, wife of Luis Pereira, passed away at home on Thursday, March 2, 2023, after a long illness. Born in Faial, Azores, daughter and only child of the late Jose Pereira Duarte and the late Conceicao Oliveira, she emigrated to Fall River in 1974.

Employed in the local garment industry for many years, prior to her retirement in 1993, Maria was also a member of the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union (ACTWU) now called UNITE.

Besides her husband, of 48 years, she is survived by her siblings-in-law, Eduardo Pereira, Jose Pereira, and Fernanda Gouviea. She was also the sister-in-law of Zelia Oliveira, Ema Melo, Arthur Pereira and John Pereira.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, March 6th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
