Maria C. Resendes, 98, of Fall River, wife of the late Aires M. Resendes, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Ribeira Seca da Ribeira Grande, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Pacheco and the late Dina (Rego) Pacheco.

She loved cooking, needlepoint, and taking care of her home and family. Maria also enjoyed traveling with her late husband to attend soccer games in England, Lisbon, and New Jersey.

She leaves: her children, Manuel L. Resendes and his wife, Grata, of Westport, Dina Pimentel (late husband, Jose) of Fall River, Natalia Nunes and her husband, Jose, of Westport, Antonio Resendes and his wife, Marylou, of Fall River, Gracinda Camara and her husband, Carlos, of Westport, Paul Resendes (late wife, Pam)) of Fall River, Duarte Resendes and his wife, Cidalia, of Fall River, Roy Resendes and his wife, Gilberta, of Fall River, and Leonardo Resendes and his wife, Marlene, of Fall River; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Anna Resendes; her brother, Manuel Pacheco of Australia; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Aires P. Resendes.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, October 31st, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
