Maria C. Soares, age 89, formerly of Tecumseh St., died Sunday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Widow of Laurenio L. Soares. Born in Lagoa, Sao Miguel, Azores, daughter of the late Evaristo and Maria Conceicao (Farias) Soares. A retired seamstress, she was a member of ILGWU. She was mother of Norberto L. Soares (his wife-Alda) of Swansea, Connie Souza (her husband-Edward) of Monument, CO and the late Evaristo Soares (his wife-Felicidade of Fall River); sister of Valentina Teixeira of Sao Miguel and the late Manuel and Antone Soares and Maria Teves; grandmother of Brian, Lori Ann and Kevin Soares, Joshua and Andrea Souza. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Her funeral mass was offered on Thursday (10/4) at Espirito Santo Church. Committal services followed at St. Patrick Cemetery
