Maria R. Campezato, 94, of Fall River, formerly of Westport, widow of Vergilio Campezato, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Carvalho Grove Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Joao Reis and the late Maria (Alves) Reis, she emigrated to Fall River in the early 1960s.

Prior to her retirement in 1989, she was employed in the local textile industry for many years. Maria was a member of the Holy Ghost Club in Westport. She enjoyed gardening, cooking & baking, and spending time with family.

She is survived by: two children, Maria Domingues (husband Manuel) of Westport and Joao Campezato (wife Olga Cabral) of Fall River; two siblings, Elena Carvalho and Georgina Almeida both of Brazil; five grandchildren, Lisa, Cindy, Christopher, Derek, and Lauren; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Maria was also a sister of the late John, Manuel, and Antonio Reis.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, July 27th, in St Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery both in Fall River.
