Maria Carvalho, 82, formerly of Quarry St, passed away on Sunday after a long illness. Widow of Francisco Carvalho. Born in Mosteiros, St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Manuel Sousa and Guilhermina Rocha. Beloved mother of Germana Ferreira (husband-Carlos), Judite Santos (husband-Serafim), Margarida Florenca (husband-Enoque), Francisco Carvalho (wife-Ilda), Isalia Santos (husband-the late Leonel), Jorge and Lucia Carvalho. Maria also leaves 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, February 16th, in St. John of God Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
