Maria (Roque) Cordeiro, 73, of Fall River, wife of Antonio Cordeiro, died Sunday, October 10, 2010 at St. Anne's Hospital. Born in Sete Cidades, St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Manuel M. & Maria P. (DaSilva) Roque, she emigrated to Fall River in 1978. She worked in the local textile industry, retiring from Clearview. Besides her husband, she leaves: 3 children, Maria (& her husband, Fernando) DeMelo of New Bedford, Americo and Horacio (& his wife, Michelle) Cordeiro of Fall River; daughter-in-law, Lidia Cordeiro; 4 siblings, Maria D. Cordeiro, Gilbert, Jose & Manuel Medeiros all of St. Michael; 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was also mother of the late Nicolau Cordeiro. Her funeral Mass was celebrated in St Anthony of Padua Church. Pallbearers Americo and Horance Cordeiro, Americo and Devin DeMello, Alfred Barreira and Samuel Tavares brought Maria to her final resting place at Notre Dame Cemetery.
