Maria "Isaura" D. Sardinha, 96, of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Wednesday. She was the widow of Manuel Sardinha. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Joao Manuel and Adelaide (Resendes) Aguiar. A Fall River resident since 1973, Isaura worked for Whaling Mfg. and was a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality. Survivors include her sons, Manuel F. Sardinha (wife – Maria), Gil Sardinha (wife – Lidia), Mario Sardinha (wife – Elvira) and Dinis Sardinha (wife – Graca), all of Fall River; her daughter, Idalina Martins (late husband – Jose) of Fall River; siblings, Duarte Aguiar of Portugal and Lurdes Chicharro of Fall River; 17 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Fatima Sardinha; and several nieces and nephews. She was also mother of the late Manuel Jose Sardinha. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, December 12th, w in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
