Obituary

Maria Eugenia Da Camara Costa, 100, of Fall River, widow of Manuel Teves Ferreira, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Clifton Rehabilitative Nursing Center, Somerset. Born in Furnas, St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Jose Da Costa and the late Maria Rosa Da Camara, she emigrated to Fall River in 1987.

A devout Catholic, Maria prayed daily and enjoyed raising, caring for, and spending  time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by: eight children, Jose Ferreira (wife Maria Jose) of Toronto, Manuel Ferreira (wife Maria Fernanda) of Seekonk, Viriato Teves (wife Valdemira) of Brampton, Canada, and Estevam Teves (wife Olga), Teresa Valerio (husband Andre), Ana Amorim (husband Jose), Tomas Ferreira (wife Hilda), and Maria Natalia Bulhoes (husband Henrique) all of Fall River; a brother, Tomas da Costa of Brampton; 29 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Maria was predeceased by a son, Angelo Teves, and six siblings, Maria Vieira, Beatrij Borges, and Jose, Antonio, Manuel, and Angelo Costa.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, April 10th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
