Maria Olivia Diogo, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at the Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, Massachusetts. She was the widow of Jose M. Diogo. Born in the village of Sao Vicente Ferreira, on the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores, she was a daughter of the late Joaquim Viveiros and the late Guilhermina dos Anjos (Botelho) Viveiros. After residing in the Azores for thirty nine years, she moved to Fall River with her family in 1960 and was employed for many years at various shops in the textile trade of this city. Mrs. Diogo was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Fall River. Surviving family members include three daughters; Isaura Faria and husband Joseph of Fall River, Mary Camara, also of Fall River, and Laura Diogo-Carreau and husband Michael of Westport, MA, three grandchildren; Joseph C. Faria, Eileen Cairo and Jade A. Carreau, four great grandchildren; Julia Faria, Joseph J. Faria, Zachary Cairo and Madison Faria, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Luis Carlos Diogo, mother-in-law of the late Walter Camara, grandmother of the late John L. Faria, and sister of the late Silvano Viveiros and John Pacheco. Funeral Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, February 27, in St Anthony of Padua Church followed by her entombment at the Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
