Maria E. Carvalho, 78, of Tiverton, wife of Michael Carvalho, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Born to the late Agostinho and Maria Gouveia on the island of St. Michael, Azores, she was the youngest of her fourteen siblings.

She was the owner and operator of Maria's Bakery in Tiverton, an accomplishment she was very proud of. She loved cooking, baking, entertaining, and watching televised hockey games. Maria also enjoyed gardening and tending to her chickens. A very kind and generous woman, she always would make it a point that no one was left alone for holiday meals.

Besides her husband of forty-two years, she leaves her loving son, Michael Carvalho of Tiverton and many nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, July 22nd, at St. Theresa Church in Tiverton followed by a private committal at Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River.
