Maria Isabel (Cabral) Estrela, 86, of 273 Oak Grove Ave, formerly of Davis St, widow of Jacinto Estrela, died on Aug. 28, 2008, at St. Anne's Hospital after a short illness. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Manuel Pereira Damaso & the late Maria Isabel (Cabral) Damaso, she emigrated to Fall River in the early 1960s. A sewing machine operator in the local textile industry for many years, she retired from Louis Hand in 1983. Survivors, all of Fall River, include: daughter-in-law Maria Jose Estrela, granddaughter Lisa Estrela-Pedro (her husband-George), great granddaughter Kyra Pedro, siblings Gaudino Damaso (his wife-Fatima), Jorge Cabral (his wife-Lourdes) & Arminda Estrela. She also leaves several nieces & nephews; and was mother of the late Jose Salvador Estrela. Her funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Her committal service was held at St. Patrick Cemetery. Her pallbearers were Gaudino Damaso, George Pedro, Anibal Duarte, Jose Furtado, and Manuel Pedro.
