Maria F. Silva, 93, of Fall River, widow of Guilherme P. Silva, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at St. Anne's Hospital. Born in St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Manuel Raposo Furtado and the late Maria da Luz (Rego) Raposo, she emigrated to Fall River in 1976.

Prior to her retirement in 1991, she had worked for many years in the local textile industry. Maria enjoyed gardening and spending time with family.

She is survived by: five children, Antonio Silva (wife Maria) of Fall River, Lourdes Martins (husband Victor) of Tiverton, RI, Jose Silva (wife Grace) of Fall River, Margarida Arruda (husband Joe) of Tiverton, RI, and Odilia Fernandes (husband Jack) of Tiverton, RI; five siblings, Joao Raposo of Hamilton, Canada, Jose Raposo of St. Michael, Azores, Conceicao Cordeiro of Hamilton, Canada, Senhorinha Raposo of St. Michael, Azores, and Nomezia Campos of Fall River; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also a sister of the late Jacinto Raposo, Manuel Raposo, and Luis Raposo.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, September 23rd, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
