Maria C. Faria, 87, of Fall River, wife of Manuel R. Faria, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Raposo Furtado and the late Maria (Dos Reis) Furtado, she emigrated to Fall River in 1973.

Prior to her retirement, she worked as a seamstress for many years in the local textile industry. Maria loved sewing, cooking, baking and spending time with family.

Besides her husband of 65 years, she is survived by: a son, Manny J. Faria (wife Susan) of Fall River; a daughter, Maria N. Cordeiro of Fall River; four grandchildren, Scott Faria, Joshua Cordeiro, Craig Faria, and Melinda Cordeiro; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Maria was predeceased by four siblings.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, January 22nd, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal and entombment in the Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
