Maria G. Leite, 87, formerly of Globe St., passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010 after a short illness. She was the widow of Sylvester Leite and Imidio Da Silva. Born in Braga, Portugal, daughter of the late Jose and Ana Goncalves. A retired sewing machine operator, she also helped out at her family's businesses: Marcucci's Bakery, Barcellos Restaurant and Sagres Restaurant. A devout catholic, she was a long time parishioner of Our Lady of Angels Church. Maria was the beloved mother of Antonio, Jose, Manuel, John, Sylvester and Jessie Silva and Maria Cerqueira; sister of Manuel Corais, Sister Rosa Goncalves, Theresa Rodrigues and the late Jose Inacio and Ana Antunes. She also leaves 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, several nieces and nephews. Her funeral Mass was celebrated in Good Shepherd Parish Church. Concelebrating with Father Fred Babiczuk were Revs. Horace Travassos, Manuel Ferreira, Edward Murphy, and Jose dos Santos. After the service, pallbearers Daniel Silva, Jayden Texeira, Stephen Silva, Scott Castanheira, Michael Silva, Kevin Silva, Victor DaSilva, and Michael Carvalho, brought Maria to rest at Notre Dame Cemetery.
