Maria "Alice"
Goulart
d. Apr 17, 2020
Swansea
Maria "Alice" Goulart, 81, of Swansea, wife of Georgino A. Goulart, passed away peacefully at Charlton Memorial Hospital on Friday, April 17, 2020.
Born in Angra do Heroismo, Terceira, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Maria Merces (Silva) Alves.
A very talented seamstress, she worked in the local textile industry for many years prior to her retirement. She loved cooking, crocheting, going on cruises, and traveling, to such places as the Azores, Bermuda, and St. Thomas. Maria was a selfless woman who was adored by many. She would often donate to various organizations in need and was very involved with the Holy Ghost. But most importantly, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed spending quality time with her loving family.
Besides her husband of sixty years, she leaves: her children, Elizabeth A. Goulart-Pacheco and her husband, David Pacheco, of Fall River, and Gino M. Goulart and his companion, Cindy Mazza, of Swansea; two grandchildren, Emma Goulart and Jared Goulart; her Godchild, Stacey Pereira, who was like a second daughter to her; a sister, Manuela Miguel and her husband, Jose, of Dartmouth; her brother, Ildeberto Alves and his wife, Albertina, of Fall River; her daughter-in-law, Stephanie Goulart; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews... She was also the grandmother of the late Cameron Goulart and sister of the late Helio Alves.
Due to the COVID pandemic, her funeral services were private, however, they were streamed live on Wednesday, April 22nd. from our Fall River Chapel followed by her committal service at Oak Grove Cemetery. These videos can be watched below. When the current crisis allows, her family will be planning to celebrate her life with a Memorial Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, which will be announced here.
