Maria I. Resendes, 90, of Fall River, widow of Jose Resendes, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017, at Catholic Memorial Home. Born in Feteiras do Sul, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Joao & Virginia (Couto) Narciso do Couto.

She emigrated to Fall River in 1966, and worked in the local textile industry, for many years with River Falls Mfg. She enjoyed knitting and yardwork.

She is survived by: 5 children, Joseph Resendes (wife Grace), Joao Resendes, Manuel Resendes, Luis Resendes (wife Suzy), and Lucy Da Silva (husband David) all of Fall River; 3 siblings, Jacinto Narciso do Couto of Vancouver Canada, Manuel Narciso do Couto and Laudalino Narciso do Couto both of St Michael, Azores; 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews. She was also a sister of the late Jose Narciso do Couto and Joao Narciso do Couto.
