Maria I. Sousa, 59, of Fall River, passed away on Saturday. She was the wife of Manuel V. Sousa, with whom she shared 40 years of marriage. Born in Rabo de Peixo, St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Lazaro and Maria (Ivo) Carreiro. Survivors include a son, Paul Sousa of Fall River; daughters, Kimberly Landry and Melissa Napier, both of Fall River; brothers, Jose Carreiro of Warwick, RI and Lazaro Carreiro of Fall River; sisters, Ana Bernardo of Westport and Eduarda Pacheco of Fall River; grandchildren, Paul Sousa, Jr., Nicole Sousa, Scotty Sousa, Alexis Napier, Devin Cordeiro, Aiden Napier and Zoey Napier; and several nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, August 8, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
