Maria J. Cabral, 89, of Fall River, wife of the late Ezequiel T. Cabral, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Sarah Brayton Nursing Home following a long illness. Born in Mosteiros, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Jose Encao DoMonte and the late Maria (Pavao) DoMonte.
Prior to her retirement, she worked in the local textile industry as a hand cutter for many years. She loved baking (known for her famous "flan" recipe), bowling, and trips to the casino. Maria also enjoyed dining out, going on cruises, and traveling to such places as Spain, Las Vegas, and Fatima.
She leaves her loving children, Antonio M. Cabral and his wife, Sofia, Fatima Camara and her husband, Frank, Goretti Medeiros and her husband Dino, and David M. Cabral and his wife, Elizabeth, all of Fall River; her seven grandchildren, Derek Pereira, Nicole Macedo, Jonathan Cabral, Shaun Cabral, Kristle Cote, Tracey Cordeiro, and Matthew Cabral; her great-grandchildren, Jaimyn Pereira, Chiron Cabral, Nolan Cabral, Jaelyn Cabral, Aveline Cote, Audrey Cote, and Evette Cordeiro, and another Baby Cordeiro "on the way"; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the grandmother of the late Eric Cabral and sister of the late Manuel Jose DoMonte.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, May 28th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Maria's memory to: St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105
