Maria A. Jacome, 91, of Fall River, widow of Fernando Jacome, passed away peacefully on Tuesday. Maria enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking and taking her daily neighborhood walk. Her strong faith showed in the way she lived her life, visiting the sick and elderly in nursing homes and hospitals. Very involved with her church, she was a member of the Holy Rosary Society. But mostly noted was the support she had for her family whom she loved deeply. Born in Ajuda, Bretanha , St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Antonio DoRego and Ana Vasconcelos. She leaves her son F. George Jacome (wife-Renee Desrosiers) of Fall River; daughters Betty Faria (husband-Antonio) of Fall River and Ana Jacome of NYC ; grandchildren Nancy Chaves, George A. Jacome, Anthony Gonsalves, Jr., Anthony L. Faria, Heather Gonsalves, Gillian and Mason Jacome; 8 great-grandchildren; brother Tony DoRego (wife-Lorraine) of South Venice, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Maria was also the sister of the late Manuel DoRego and Cremilde Antonio. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, January 21st, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
